Standing on Olivet
We stand on Olivet. Here we view the past, here we live in the present, and here we wait for the promise to come. Here on Mt. Olivet the Savior invited us to watch and pray with Him as He prepared for the final triumphant battle for our souls. Here Christ returned in that triumph to His heavenly throne. Here we wait, ever turning our eager eyes to day of the Lord’s return.
So we are urged to watch and pray against that Great Day, the day when He returns. Yes, He will return to Mt. Olivet, but not alone to that physical place. In every recess of earth, to the living and the dead, the Savior will suddenly appear. We watch and pray, in all our places and in all our stations in life. We watch and pray as we go, preaching to all the Good News, encouraging one another with songs, and hymns and spiritual songs. “Look up for your Redemption draweth nigh.” Luke 21:28
Watch and wait and pray.
Stand upon the Mt. Olivet.
